The Highlights
2024 in Numbers
The easiest way to see last year’s impact is by looking at the number of children and families we served. These numbers showcase the incredible value of collective impact, where we all work together toward a common goal: ending the child welfare crisis.
- 60,289 children prevented from entering foster care
- 40,948 families served
- 20,793 active churches
- 6,275 foster family recruitment leads
This is just a fraction of all the milestones made on behalf of children and families. Find even more in the full report.
Making Strides State by State
Every state faces unique challenges when it comes to child welfare. That’s why For Others takes a state-by-state approach to provide local solutions for local problems. The not-so-secret ingredient? Collective impact. In 2024, we rolled out our Well-Being Support Ecosystem, a collaborative effort uniting states, nonprofits, churches, individuals, and more.
Our home state of Tennessee implemented part of the Well-Being Support Ecosystem last year with the launch of Every Child Tennessee. The groundbreaking initiative serves the state’s children and families before, during, and after foster care. Importantly, it also finds high-quality foster family leads, adding to the number of homes available for children.
While For Others and our partners are active in almost every state, Tennessee, Oregon, Arkansas, and Iowa have all officially joined the Well-Being Support Ecosystem.
In Their Own Words
While the numbers and state partnerships paint a picture of progress, nothing compares to hearing directly from the kids and families we serve. The 2024 Annual Report features real testimonies from children, families, and partners who you impacted through us. In the full report, read how:
- Jeremiah learned to let himself be loved by his foster mom and dad.
- Emily and her grandparents healed their relationships to preserve their kinship placement.
- Daniel saw the love of his foster parents and committed to loving his own children the same way. Watch his story here!
And sustaining it all was you, the For Others Collective.
