Government For Others

Government agencies like DCFS, DHS, and DCS play an essential role in solving the child welfare crisis. When we serve as a strategic philanthropic partner to a state, we first work with these agencies to understand and assess their unique challenges. We then build bridges between state leaders and nonprofit organizations equipped to address the crisis in their communities.

By fostering trust and collaboration among government, faith communities, nonprofits, and service providers, we create solutions that unite both the public and private sectors.

Creating Systemic Change

To create lasting impact, we must engage government entities and work alongside them. They provide crucial regulation, support, and provision services like programs, policy enforcement, and case management. Government collaboration with non-profits, businesses, individuals, and churches is necessary for ending the crisis.

We are grateful to partner with state agencies and departments across the country that share our commitment to helping children and families thrive.

What Government Partnership Looks Like

Every Child Tennessee launched in August 2024. Since then, Tennessee has seen a rapid increase in foster family leads and recruitment.

Aly Brodsky, Fmr. Deputy Secretary LA Works, Louisiana

“In Louisiana, we’ve worked with countless nonprofits doing important work, but For Others Collective stands apart. They don’t just run programs—they build bridges. Their team has helped us think in systems, connect with mission-aligned partners like Timothy Hill, Restore Hope, and The Contingent, and surface whole-system solutions that government alone could never build. If you’re a donor looking to make a population-level difference rather than funding isolated efforts, this is where your investment has the greatest leverage.”

Tiffany Wright, Director DCFS Arkansas

“It is an honor to walk alongside For Others and have their support in navigating complex systemic issues across all sectors of our communities. Together, we work to ensure that children are safe with their families—and when removal is necessary, that those children can thrive while in foster care.

This is complicated and challenging work, but when we do it together, it becomes less of those things. I’m also deeply grateful to have an organization that not only partners but also takes the time to check in on me as a leader. That support truly makes a difference.”

Lance Villio, Executive Director, Tennessee Governor's Faith-Based and Community Initiative

“Without For Others, Tennessee wouldn’t have been able to launch our Every Child Tennessee initiative. Their national purview, deep understanding of what’s working across states, and ability to connect people, data, and funding make them an essential partner. They don’t just advise—they help design real, innovative solutions that mobilize communities and change lives. If you’re a donor or a state leader, you need someone who can see the full field and move with both urgency and wisdom. Vulnerable children aren’t someone else’s responsibility. They’re ours.”
