Individuals For Others

People from every walk of life have a role to play in helping children and families thrive. From celebrities who give their time and platform, to individuals who have experienced foster care firsthand, to families who choose to foster, adopt, or volunteer, each person brings something powerful to the movement. Thousands have joined Our Collective to use their gifts, stories, and influence to help end the child welfare crisis.

Meet some of the people who have chosen to live For Others:

Colt & Rachel McCoy

“As parents, our hearts break knowing so many children are growing up without the stability and love every child deserves. For Others has shown that when families, churches, government leaders and communities come together, incredible things happen—birth families are strengthened, kids find safe and loving homes, and lives are forever changed. So much of this work is done based on relationships. Whether your sphere of influence is big or small, you never know who God will put in your path for His purposes. We are using our voice to make sure no child is forgotten.”

Cheri's Story

Cheri heard about the foster care statistics when our founder, Chris Tomlin, shared them during his concert. She and her husband were inspired to get involved. One man used his platform to educate others about the child welfare crisis, and Cheri heard the call. How can you spread the word in your own unique way?

The Zezulka's

“All a kid wants is a home. It doesn’t have to be a perfect one. As kids, we just want a permanent one, and we want to be loved.”

Ivey, Kai, and Lita were bounced around various foster homes until being adopted by Paige and Daniel. This sweet family is a reminder of the importance of a loving home.

Austin's Story

“I didn’t think anyone cared at all.”

After years of abuse and a lengthy stay in foster care, Austin had nearly lost hope of finding a place to belong. At 17, adoption felt out of reach, and the future looked dim.

Then, Austin’s life changed forever when a family from his church decided to adopt him. Once angry and heartbroken, Austin finally felt safe and loved. He says their love turned his life around.
